Fall 2022: JANAK DHAKAL, PhD. Dr. Dhakal was a postdoctoral research associate in the #ChavesLabUNL from April 2021 to December 2022. Janak was funded by USDA-NIFA and worked with SARS-CoV-2 surrogates evaluating persistence and survival on food contact surfaces. He is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Agriculture, Food and Resource Sciences at University of Maryland Eastern Shore. Twitter: @Janak1928

Thesis title: "Antimicrobial efficacy of a citric acid/hydrochloric acid blend, peroxyacetic acid, and sulfuric acid against Salmonella on inoculated non-conventional raw chicken products".
